High Tensile 100kn Basalt Geogrid For Road And Bridge Pavement Fiberglass Geogrid

Basalt Geogrid mesh is a kind of reinforcement product which uses the anti-acid and alkali basalt continuous filament (BCF) to produce gridding base material with advanced knitting process, sized with saline and coated with Bitumen or Polymer.
Basalt geogrid is designed for reinforcing road and highway overlays to prolong the pavement lifespan by reducing the effects of reflective cracking caused by traffic loading, age hardening and temperature cycling.
Pavement life between maintenance can be prolonged significantly. Basalt reinforcing mesh makes it possible to reduce thickness of asphalt concrete pavement up to 20%.

Excellent mechanical properties

1. High strength and low elongation

The tensile strength of basalt fiber is as high as 90-200kN/m (in both warp and weft directions), and the elongation at break is ≤4%, which is significantly higher than that of glass fiber or polyester fiber. Its high modulus characteristics can effectively disperse stress and reduce road settlement and deformation.

2. No long-term creep

Under long-term load, basalt fiber will not creep, ensuring long-term stability of material performance, suitable for heavy-loaded roads and airport runways.

  • High temperature resistance: melting point >1500℃, long-term use temperature -260℃~650℃, can withstand high temperature of asphalt paving (above 190℃).

2. Corrosion resistance and anti-aging

Acid, alkali, salt corrosion and ultraviolet resistance, strong chemical stability, service life can reach 50-100 years, suitable for harsh environments such as coastal areas and high cold.
